Instructions for 2/4 Minute Combination Attachment for Home?

Post by hearsedriver »

Does anyone have a pdf or jpeg of the instructions for installing a 2/4 minute combination attachment on a Edison HOME machine? Thanks, Cliff

Thank you. According to those instructions, there is no mention of using one of these on a Model A Home . The kit I have has parts that are stamped B. The B is a 4 minute only machine correct? So, Im thinking that the kit I have is to allow the use of 2 minute cylinders on the B machine. I have a Home Model A. Will this kit work to allow it to play 4 minute cylinders? I think it will but want to be sure. Thanks

The Home B was originally a two minute machine. The 2/4 for a home b will work on a home A . I have put one on. I do not know if it will work on a home suitcase but I suspect it will. I will check my suitcases to see if there is a 2/4 on one of them. The adjustment has to be played with a little to get it working right. Have fun and good luck Tom B

Thats interesting Tom. I was not aware that the B came in a 2 minute only and 4 minute only. I now realize I have a Home B.

As I understand, there were no 4 minute cylinders yet when the Home B was released, so it was always 2 minute only - except if converted.

Here are some pictures of the 2/4 conversion. the home A has the switch and the B does not but it is a 2/4 conversion also. None of my suitcases have a 2/4 conversion on them so I do not know if one was made or the B 2/4 conversion will work. Home B was a two minute machine. I misspoke on the B machine .. It is only a two minute machine when it came out of the Edison plant. The first regular home that would play a 4 minute cylinder was a home D. It played both two and four minute cylinders. Tom B
