Edison Class M Question

This is a great thread. Is there any chance that those of you reading this who own Class Ms would be willing to post pictures? I would love to see some pictures of these machines outside of the books that I always see them in.

We have recently come into possession of a very very well kept Edison Class M Phonograph.
It is a very early model with a serial number in th 5000's.
All of plates, patents and metallic labels are in brilliant and shiny condition.
It appears this one may have been around in the prohibition as it has labels displayed advising it was sold under the provision it should not be used in the state of New Jersey.
It does not appear to have the water cell or ear piece.

It has however a large inbuilt drawer and inside we found original Thomas Edison amberol recors - with his face on the label.
Two are broken and one is in whole condition:
The unit still has a lockable chest top.

At present we are looking for a buyer who will cherish it - as we believe this has been passed down through a number of generations. It is not something we are able to care for or hold onto.

George, you mentioned Charley Hummel. The last time I was at his house picking up something I bought from him I commented on how many Class M machines he had. His reply to me was that he had a total of 21. That just blew me away. But then he has things I've never see before.

My good friend who got me started in collecting 30+ years ago had two Class M's a few years ago. He kept one for his collection and it's a very special machine in that it's fitted with a Polyphone attachment and has the original paperwork to go with it. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment:

Here's a Class E Concert that I restored many many years ago, pimped out with a Bettini reproducer. These differ from the Class m's in the fact that they operate on 110 AC. They have a choke coil in the case which reduces the motor's required voltage to 40 volts. Note that the terminals are on the front of the case, NOT on the wood governor board. There is NO tag that says class E where you would normally find the Class M plate's location. Not exactly OSHA approved. This machine is post 1900. I would think that due to the style of the case, but this is just a guess on my part though.

A Class E, machine! class EEEE, get it, that's a joke son!!!
