Is this a HERZOG cabinet?

Post by toydk »

I just acquired this cabinet. It looks similar to some Herzog cabinets I have seen online but maybe it's a knock off by some other manufacturer? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like a Herzog with additional wooden knobs on the doors, and a replaced center vertical molding between the doors. It's great that the original shelves are there - congratulations. :)

Thanks George. I never thought I would be able to own a genuine Herzog cabinet. I drove 12 hours round trip to pick this up in Michigan. I thought it was a bargain at $150 even if it wasn't a Herzog.

This cabinet, along with a couple dozen other Herzog styles, is pictured in the September issue of The Antique Phonograph.

...and not to mention the Herzog catalogs in the "Members Only" section! :)
