What Reproducer Is This?

Post by rodpickett »

I was going thru a reproducer pile and found this. I can't remember what it is or where I got it. The mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Is this a Model D, without a fish-tail and a reproduction weight / top / arm - or what?

Something has been cobbled, but I'm clueless at the moment.

Thanks in advance for any comment. - rod

I think it is an Early Model B reproducer.

Check out the March 2015 issue of The Antique Phonograph for more information on the Model B, written by Steve Medved.

Well, that was subtle. Ren'e was actually telling me I should have used the APS knowledgebase to search for Steve Medved’s Reproducer articles.

There on page 14 of the March 2015 issue of The Antique Phonograph I would have seen another example of a late heavy-weight Automatic (upper-left) before the transition to B. My s/n is 22146 and matches Steve’s “rim-top” description.

I received a message from another collector indicating he had a similar Automatic to B transition on his Edison Concert.

I still can’t remember when or where I got it.

It's AMAZING how much information is archived in that "Members Only" section, isn't it?

Steve is the expert on these. He has helped me and is super friendly. I had the same one and it is posted on this forum ... it is Aug. 17 , 2017 under winged B reproducer. Tom B
