I believe he casts them out of lead, to avoid the corrosion that plagues alloys like pot metal.

He casts them out of a lead and antimony alloy. They are nice and strong and also look very nice when polished up. You can get the trunnion tube from Ron Sitko but only Jean-Paul has the special carriage pieces.
