Shane's machine has a Columbia brake / speed control... the later lever-type, circa 1908 - 12 ?
The "plunger" type was a hold-over from the earlier "front-mount machines".
I'm curious about the original mounting for the OEM tone-arm: was it a deck-mount (like a "Favorite" or "Jewel", or a cast-iron elbow on the side, such as an "Eclipse" ?

Mine was most certainly a deck-mount. No holes anywhere to indicate a cast iron elbow. Not sure about the other one discussed on this thread.

Wow, thank you. It's nice to know what the nearly unreadable tag on the bottom of mine says!
I'm realizing this arm and reproducer may be a very tough thing to find. I have a generic no-name reproducer made by Columbia, and also a cast iron deck mount. If I got a Columbia Favorite-type tonearm, I would at least have something in the Columbia family to go with it. Heck, anything is better than what's on it now.
