Gold plating on Victrola XVI

Post by MikeB »

I recently found a Victrola XVI. The tonearm and some other parts need a fresh gold plating. Does anyone know a good source for this?

Thanks!
Mike

Depending on the model and the arm you need it may be cheaper to find a better arm.

Caswell brush plating can be done at home, and Nashville Plating is said to be a good place. I would say, if you want to keep the machine original, replate the arm you have instead of replacing it. Looks like it came off a nice Victrola--good luck with the project.

You might try cleaning with ammonia and a clean cloth first. Jerry B.
