As George mentioned in a previous post, continuous improvements are planned for Search, starting with a streamlined main-menu, pull-down.

The knowledgebase consists of several hundred publications, both from the time-period and present day.

The original intent of Search was not as an index of available publications, as you might see in a library catalog, rather it was intended to identify those publications that contained a particular Search phrase.

It is likely an index of publications will be available in a future release.

I didn't see the C250/C19 articles in The Phonograph Monthly since I just started getting that last winter, and I don't see them online at the site. Since the series started in 2015 and finished in 2016, it looks like I'd have to pay $70 for 2 sets of back issues, which is more than I paid for the phonograph! I guess I can get by without that. I'll post more photos soon.
If you're not an APS member, you can join for only $30 (in the U.S.). Membership gives you access to ALL back issues of The Antique Phonograph (the Antique Phonograph Monthly has not been published for 20 years). There are also nearly 20,000 pages of other documents members can access. You can join here:

I joined this year and have not been able to figure out how to find a list of all the back issues. I hope that the search function is improved soon as I would like to read all I have missed. Thanks George. :)

I just gave Fran data on the three C19 machines that I have, including this transitional one with the drawers. I'm hoping the maroon dividers in the drawers are the same as those used in the two-shelf record storage units since about half of mine are missing and might be difficult to find otherwise. From his article, I now know that this is missing number strips for the record slots. I looked all over in the record area and under the turntable but didn't find any of the missing pieces except one small piece of oak trim.

Greg, thank you for your detailed images. I did a comparison between the dividers of my oak C 19 #75,339 drawers, against one of the remaining set of dividers I have from a later (perhaps fumed?) oak C 19 (#96,451) that had the vertical dividers system, and the dividers are the same dimensions. I still have one complete set of them left (35) that I saved -- it was heavily water damaged in the extreme, and had deconstructed itself. If you're interested in them, send me a PM for details -- they range from poor to fair condition.

Do you have any of the interior wood parts that comprised the assembly? I also have the wood cabinet parts for both compartments, IIRC, but I'd have to check to be certain.

Below is an image from my complete late C 19 #172,249, and images of one complete assembly that was removed from C 19 #96,451, so that you can see how the system was constructed.

Best,
Fran

Fran’s informative articles on the Edison Chippendale, identified as same in the Table of Contents, were published in The Antique Phonograph issues of Dec. 15, Mar. 16, Jun. 16 and Sep. 16, under the author Francis W. Pratt

Work continues on improving Search, both in content and functionality. Your annual membership dues help, in part, with increasing the benefits members realize.

On a side note, I have never met Fran, but surely hope to someday.

Thank you Rod, for the continuing efforts on your part, and the parts of all the APS team! I would like to meet you in person also, I need to get out more, for sure... ;)

George P., Tim F., and I have been trying to come up with a viable scheme the past couple of years to get me to the Union show, I hope we can succeed next June!

Best,
Fran
