SOLD: 1899 Edison Suitcase Home Model A - $900
Edison “Suitcase” Home Model A in excellent all-original condition. Built October of 1899 according to the serial number (18885). Comes with “winged” model C reproducer which was a period correct upgrade to the Automatic and plays beautifully. Original black and brass horn with proper "patent applied for" stamps, seam, and soldered end connector, also all original paint and bell has a gorgeous untouched patina. Also included are an accessory clip-on record brush, correct chip brush, and intact shaver attachment. The case is gorgeous, all original finish. Decal is nearly perfect. Machine runs nicely and has a gorgeous bedplate with strong pinstriping and decals. Can bring to Stanton auction or ship at your expense (in 2 boxes). My packing is excellent as anyone who has bought a machine from me can attest to. Also interested in a possible trade deal for a disc cabinet suitable for a Vic VI.

Re: FOR SALE: 1899 Edison Suitcase Home Model A - $1000
The data plates were moved from the front of the casting around May 1899. This Home was manufactured almost half-way through the "suitcase" production. (See The Edison "Home" Phonograph, 1896-1901 in the September 2006 issue of The Sound Box.)tomb wrote:Nice machine... Wen did they move the ID plate to the back from the front??
