SOLD! : Early Edison Concert Project - $700

Post by Jerry B. »

I am selling a project Edison Concert. It is the first model and should have the full coverage lid (missing). As you can see from the photos it is missing the parts drawer and the cabinet base. I believe it was converted to play standard sized cylinders and a previous collector started the process of returning it to a 5" player. The carriage is aluminum and the mandrel is a fine reproduction on a Triumph shaft. It has an early Triton motor. To make this a playing machine you would need the following:

Build a wood base.
Build a wood parts drawer.
Find a crank that mates to the square winding shaft.
Purchase a reproducer
To make this complete you'd need to build or find a full coverage lid.

It would not be too difficult to make this into an attractive fully functional Concert machine. The original paint on the deck and upper works is quite nice. The price for everything you see is $700. I am happy to deliver to Union or APS but shipping is extra. If shipped I would suggest the Triton spring motor in one carton. The deck and top works in a second carton and a third carton for the cabinet. It will be expensive to ship safely.

Please PM any interest or questions. The buyer is the first collector to say 'SOLD!".

Thanks, Jerry Blais

Very tempting. I have all the original missing parts for both the case and machine and I also have an original 5” carriage and mandrel. Just wish the machine had a better finish.

It's mostly just dirty. It has potential. Jerry

Jerry could you send me some pictures so I can see the finish on the bedplate and upper casting?
