WANTED-Segment of Original Credenza (or others) Grill Cloth

Post by JerryVan »

I just bought a decent Victrola 1-70 that has had the grill cloth replaced. Being a small machine, a segment of original Credenza grill cloth would do just fine to make this look right again. Got any torn up Orthophonic era Victor grill cloth that's otherwise unusable for a larger machine??

I did just that with a 1-70 I had. Just a word of caution, the cloth I was able to use had a "ghost" figure in it where the old grill trim had hidden it from sun / light etc. in a couple of small spots. It probably wasn't noticed by anyone but me, but I could always spot it. I even tried cleaning another spare piece I had with Woolite hoping to install that one, but it literally disintegrated when I took it out of the sink to dry!
