Wanted: Empty Cylinder Boxes

Post by Dave D »

I could use about 40 empty record boxes. I prefer a felt lined box suitable for wax records.
Thanks!

I had custom boxes make by the http://www.acmespiral.com/. Since 2000. (yes I have been making self made cylinders for almost 18 years now.) For 500 boxes the price per box (for a box similar to the wax Amberol box) not assembled,is about $1.50 per box. You can have them put custom paper on the outside, like crinkle blue, or red, and that is a little extra, though the caps are brown paper, although I think they can add textured paper to those too. I don't feel like selling what I use for my blanks and records, they can make them for you. Minimum order is about 750.00. I know high, however per box, that is reasonable, if you put the felt lining in (best thing I have found is putting the inner tube on a piece of posterboard, and using acid free 3m spray, spraying a liberal amount on the inside of the box, flipping it over, not getting any on the outside. cut out your liner material, putting it in a roll, and unrolling it inside the box, then smooth out with a split blue amberol shell. I then assemble the boxes with glue all. I don't use glue all for the fleece, as it can bleed though and scratch the records, the other is a better job. Other than original cylinder record boxes, I don't think lined boxes are available.
