Re: FOR SALE: Edison Shaving Machine Post-1912 INQUIRE

So. I have the impression that my idea is not clear for everybody. So, i ask to the Edison Fan, if they have an idea of the value of this? In USA? In Europe?

I only see one sell at 730$ in USA, 2 mounth ago. It was a good price, or a Madness?

Thanks

I think that you are a phonograph collector, especially Edison, I would keep this Shaver and look for the other one. These are not seen to often any it is in very good condition.

Rich,

Maybe a "French 20 years old Phonograph collector!" could use an extra $730 more than a shaver? Maybe not...

I really don't know the value of these but the four minute shaver is so late that it must be pretty rare. I cannot imagine they were great sellers back when new.

And this one, well the condition is really great. That certainly increases the value.

Good luck with your sale!

I just want to give the seller something to think about. Plus $730 is a very high price for one of these shavers. $500 might be more inline.

Hello Gordon,
The problem is that i have not a lot of money. And i can't keep a useless machine. I prefer to refund my money and found another shaver to buy another machine. But i understand your way of think ;)

I wasn't trying to be critical with my previous comment, as you can see there is no real way to reach an offer if the normal value is not known. I think the $500 price is realistic to the right collector. Good luck with the sale...

One other thought... maybe the reason the shaver has destroyed several cylinders is that the blade may be adjusted too close to the cylinder and cuts too deeply. Also, it may need to be sharpened to operate properly. If neither of these is the reason, it will still make a nice display item for someone who has other machines and would like a nice shaver to go with them.
