I hear that the correct terminology for stranded people now is to say that "they are on Volcation" ?

Allow me to spew some ash onto this discussion.
I don't understand how a person can fail to erupt with enthusiasm when confronted with the vibrant sound of a hot '20s Edison dance band record nor remain indifferent to the volcanic crackling of the spoken announcement on a 2-minute cylinder.

Guys let's face it. 99.9% of the earth's population doesn't really give a rip about this hobby and probably 90% don't even know what an acoustic phono is.
AND THEN there are those few of us who can manage to steer a conversation on ANY topic into a discussion on antique phonographs. Just look at the title of this thread. Global air travel was significantly disrupted, almost stopped for a week in Europe, huge eruptions causing huge disruptions, and we've managed to use this event to spawn a phono discussion lasting 10 days so far!
