Repaired Foot on a VTLA Cabinet

Post by CDBPDX »

I recently purchased a VTLA serial #3185. Nice looking machine but the right front leg was missing a big piece. I took it to a woodworker in Multnomah, Oregon and he made a new foot for me. He even matched the carving on the opposite foot. The motor and tone arm are already rebuilt, a little bit of cleaning and polishing of the rest of the cabinet, and I'll have a very nice machine.

Very happy with the woodwork! Too bad I didn't think to take a good 'before' picture of the foot...

He even made the finish match the aged look of the rest of the cabinet. Cool!

That looks fantastic! If I hadn't been told I would have had no way of knowing it was repaired.

It is nice to see a repair that you have a hard time telling the original form the repair. Tom B
