Front Mount Aretino

Post by arthurmacie »

Picked up one, I will attache the photos later (having some problems) - Plays well, motor strong, reproducer - good. Mechanically and cosmetically in great shape. Turntable is setup for standard 78's, and the horn has either been buffed or the paint is gone (silver color) except for the gold color end.

Any suggestions/opinions appreciated

That's the original horn, with the original finish on it. They were green, as this one still slightly shows. The color has faded over time. Nice find!!

Nice looking machine

I have a couple of questions.

Did you repaint the horn?

The turntable on mine appears to be tapped with a screw-in adapter is in place for standard 78's - is that normal?

I'd like to rebuild the reproducer - any idea where I can get the parts?

My aretino was missing the needle bar. Jason at jasantiques.com had it. I dont know if he has outher reproducer parts. Horn was blue for a harmony so shot it in green. Turntable mounts same as most columbia phonos. Tapered spindle. Table just lifts off spindle
