I was checking my all black Columbia horns. I do have one with a steel bell. It is painted black with the gold stripes. Now, I know that there are two versions of this horn. I'm not sure which one came first, or they were made simultaneously.

As a general observation, zinc does not hold paint very well. Lots of 19th century American shelf clocks had zinc dials and it is common to find them with paint loss--sometimes severe.
