Edison Victor and Conqueror ?
I have never seen an Edison phonograph model referred to as a "Victor" or a "Conqueror". Anyone know about these ?

I've heard of them and would love to own one. I think the term "Victor" was used by many companies and was not exclusive to the Victor Talking Machine Company. Jerry Blais

It would appear that the Victor was a home version of the battery operated Class M machine, and the Conqueror was the same but wired for house current. Variations of the machines were given different names for ease of ordering by telegraph. The electric version of the Concert was called the "Opera" or the "Oratorio" depending on which electric motor it had.

I posted about the Edison "Victor" awhile back -- http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... w=previous You can download a PDF version of the 1903 catalog from the link I provided. It's interesting that Edison used the Victor name after the Victor Talking Machine Co. was founded. I'd imagine it kept the lawyers on both sides busy for awhile.
