Period Paint Job

Post by SonnyPhono »

Does anyone know if this sort of paint job was done professionally on these Cygnet horns? It appears to be from that time but I was just curious if anyone has seen these painted like this before.

We got coloured cygnet (and other) horns from the Edison factory here in Australia, but I dont think they were ever available in USA. I've seen them in blue, green & red, but never in yellow, and never with flowers painted on them (from the factory).

Egads. Looks like a fairly "professional" job, but French's Mustard Yellow? El Yucko !!!

Still if you can get it for $500 or so, it would be a deal (after repainting)

Even I can tell this is not original. Looks like some housewife tried to dress it up or something. Anyway, horns can be replaced or repainted in an appropriate manner, so I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker.
