I'm not well acquainted with Electrolas. My apologies for those who frown upon Craigslist postings, but I'm really interested in comments on later Electrolas in general, other than the hassle of replacing caps and other electronic components.

Re: Craigslist Electrola 7-11
The 7-11's kind of an odd bird -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/7-11.htm
While the radio is powered from the wall, using the loudspeaker near the bottom of the cabinet, the Victrola portion is all acoustic and normally spring wound. In fact, the Victrola is basically identical to the VV-2-55 portable--same sound box, horn, and motor-board. (It sits in the boxy top of the cabinet.) The horn's mouth is at the rear, and the sound waves are reflected off of the back of the chamber toward the front.
In terms of sound quality, the one example I saw was about on par with a Consolette. (The radio portion wasn't working, so I don't know how that sounds.)
I noticed that the seller is trying to run an auction which is in violation of Craigslist TOU. Probably, the add will be flagged off before too long.

Interesting and attractive, but that's a lot of cabinet surrounding a small machine. If the look is right for your room go for it, otherwise there are better Orthophonics.

Re: Craigslist Electrola 7-11
Thanks for the comments. I was curious as I hadn't seen this one before. I wasn't considering buying it...with a Credenza, an 8-12 and a 4-4, I don't have room for more Orthophonics *grin*
