BTW: the accident I had with my 8-30X, which I described in a slightly older thread, neglected to mention that mine is also a TLP...I expect to get it working again, rewired, very soon!

The TLP machine that sold for $160.00 at Stanton's was sans motor, tone arm, and cast Iron horn elbow.

This one is rather nicer.

Id have to agree Im afraid. The only one that looks worse to me, is the one that looks like some senile old lady's gone mad with the blue paint and brush lol.

Senile old ladies would have known better. More like a circa 1970s bored housewife (or house-husband to be PC) with aspirations to become an interior decorator.

Actually, I rather like the tooled panel model. It's more along the line of this sort of thing.....

I've seen a couple of TLP Credenzas and was very impressed, but for their prices I am very happy with my plain ol' mahogany 8-30.

Adam, that's a very beautiful machine you have. I already had my 8-30 amd had done all of the mecnanical work before I ever knew Victor had ever made a TLP version. I never saw one until I saw one Ron Haring delivered at Orlando a couple of years ago.

Re my previous post on this thread: I meant it to be humorous, but I guess it fell short. Certainly no offense meant. I know a collector woh piles so much stuff on his Credenza that we could play 3 or 4 records while he is getting his machine open!

Well, sticks and stones aside, I've never been impressed with them in photos, but I've never seen one in real life, and many's the time that I found out that photographs are not a good way to judge an item. By the way, I do have something on top of my Credenza, but it's only a scarf and a decorative planter (with NO plant in it), so it's easily off and out of the way when I do want to lift the lid.

I'd buy it, and if I had a new truck I trusted to drive that far, I certainly would do so. But, here I am.

I'd love to own a Credenza one day.

I'm with you SignatureSeriesOwner. (From here on referred to as SS-Owner to make things easier! : ) ) I have my eye out for a nice, or at least decent Credenza and have for a couple of months now. One should come around sooner or later for a reasonable price in my neck of the woods, right?
