Got this last year at a local flea market. There was a basket full of sewing stuff....for some reason I dug thru the basket & found this. Didn't realize at first what it was! I just knew I had seen it somewhere. Opened it up & saw the H&S logo & then remembered seeing it in Tim's book! She had $15 marked on it & when I brought it to the seller she said, Oh! I've had that forever, you can have it for $5 dollars!!Didn't take me long to get my $5 dollar's out!!!
It's about 4" across & is for needles.
See! They're still out there!!

Wow - that's a great H&S needle box! (I won't tell you what I had to pay for mine!
)
By the way, was that really "Tim's book," or was someone else involved too?
Congratulations!

Well, after several days of thoroughly enjoying this entertaining thread, I decided to jump in and share a few smalls of my own. Thanks to everyone for sharing their treasures!

- The large print block at center still has its original, protective, paper covering in place (peeling a bit at top left). Note the same image on the watch fob below. United Phonographs Corporation (UPC) manufactured Puritan (phonographs and records) and United (phonographs). Paramount phonographs and records were manufactured by the New York Recording Laboratories (NYRL), a sister company to UPC. Both UPC and NYRL were subsidiaries of the Wisconsin Chair Company of Sheboygan, WI.

Anyone know the story behind this item? It's the second one I've seen. Jerry B.

I am not a dedicated collector of such items, but I do have an affinity for items related to the Edison Diamond Disc Phonographs, particularly the Chippendale C 250/C 19.

Found a couple interesting things in a box of stuff. First is instructions on how to use the Columbia fiber needles, then a tiny bottle of Eclipse needles that are apparently permanent, according to the accompanying instruction sheet.

I think on the last one I saw they said it was in advertising record for the Diamond Disc?
