1962 Edison made by the Lionel Corp. $30**SOLD!!

Post by Jerry B. »

Does anyone have an interest in a hand powered functional phonograph made by the Lionel Corporation in 1962? It comes with the instruction book which includes a story of Edison's youth. I believe this was a science kit or model for an older child. I'd be happy to deliver it to Union for $30. If interested or have questions, please email [email protected] or call 541-990-0781. Thanks, Jerry Blais

After the 1950s, which were the Golden Years for Lionel trains, they went into several other unrelated or only loosely related retail initiatives, even as the quality of their trains (and sales) was going downhill. There were many reasons for the decline of interest in model trains from the '60s on, and there are a number of books which go into this period of the Lionel Corporation's history. To those of us who had Lionel trains as kids, and who still have them, such items as spinning reels and science kits do not represent the Lionel that we like to remember. But, to each his own.

Yes, mine is the same as the ebay item. Mine is assembled, does not have the box or the little plastic bust of Edison. Jerry
