Sold: Edison B80 and "Matching" Record Cabinet-Inquire
I purchased this B-80 Diamond Disc along with the cabinet together. The machine fits perfectly on it, but from the condition of the finishes I doubt they spent their life together. The cabinet is also the right size for my table top Victrola XII. Would like to give the person buyng the B-80 first chance to buy the cabinet. If interested please let me know. Can deliver to Wayne or throughout New England. Thanks, John

I may be wrong but that looks like a cabinet for 78s rather than Diamond Disc records. If it fits your VV-XII perhaps that was its purpose. Am I wrong? Others?

Looking closely at the photos, the slots are numbered from 1 to (32?), and are pretty wide for regular 78s. I incline to the opinion that this cabinet is probably for DDs.Jerry B. wrote:I may be wrong but that looks like a cabinet for 78s rather than Diamond Disc records. Now if I could get one in dark oak for my A-80....

I have a mahogany B-80 with its original mahogany record cabinet and an oak A-80 with its original oak record cabinet and both of the record cabinets have the "V" frieze design just under the record cabinet top. While your cabinet does not have the frieze design it appears very similar otherwise to my A-80 / B-80 record cabinets. Please excuse the hastily snapped picture of my B-80 and its cabinet as both have been in storage for years.

Referring to the B-80 that is for sale, the finishes on the B-80 and the cabinet don't match. The cabinet appears much lighter to me indicating it is not a good match for the machine. Maybe they made B-80s in different mahogany finishes, or maybe the cabinet was made for a different machine, such as a B-19?
