I've been chatting off the board with '1917' about WWI-related phonographs and items and I told him about Edison 'Army & Navy' Diamond Disc Phongraphs. I don't have any photos on my hard-drive and none came up on a Google search. Can anyone post photos of an A&N on the board so he can see what they look like?
Thanks!

Thanks in advance to anyone who might have an image of these! They sound like outstanding machines!

Not that this will help but, there is one down in Mexico that I see everytime I'm there. There are ugly machines compared to most.I think they have been asking 495.00 US for it for the last three or four years now.It looks like a packing crate painted drab olive.

Has anyone ever seen one in blue for the navy?

The only examples I've ever seen have all been in olive drab although marked 'Army and Navy'. The one example I found in the wild was from San Diego, so if native, was likely a Navy machine. It was as green as it could be.

Talkophone - thank you for the link! I'm guessing these are hard to come by based on the comments I'm seeing. I tried to find an image or two myself, but came up short. I did find some interesting old photos of Victrolas. Anyone thought of an old Victrola/phonograph photo section? I'll start a thread here in a minute. Does anyone have any old photos showing Victrolas - i.e. originals? I'm on the hunt! Now if I can only find a WWI photo showing the Army Navy Edison...
