Found for free on the side of the road

Post by CutlassEllis »

The poor thing was completely gutted and just left out, most likely used as a liquor cabinet. I didn’t even know it was a record cabinet till i got home to take a second look at it and found its a VE 9-18. Really makes me hate the repurposing shows.

that is a nice cabinet. It could be one of those projects that you take a year or two to get it going by buying parts when they come up a few at a time. it probably will be expensive but you will be spreading the costs. When it gets done you will be proud of what you accomplished. Tom

Great cabinet! You can really tell it is from the 1920s, style-wise. By the 30s, everything was going Art Deco streamlined!

That would have used the Radiola 64 which had the single ended ux250 in the Amp.
They pushed that tube to the max with over 400 volts on the plate. You will have an amazing set when complete.i have the 9-16 which has the radiola 18 (same cabinet) God bless you for saving this..you are a true caretaker!

Go back and ask about the guts. A lot of people take the guts to try and sell them online..

Great cabinet +1
