Edison Clock

Post by Discman »

This is a reproduction Edison clock of my own design. The graphics came from a Gold Moulded cylinder label. The dial is about 12 in in diameter. I bought a modern clock with battery movement, replaced the dial with mine, added new period hands and made the fake key wind mechanism. I sold a few of these on Ebay but couldn't make enough profit to cover my time so I quit.

Dave,

It’s a pity your proceeds didn’t cover your time; based on that photo you do superb work.

Perhaps you could make them as commissioned works, instead?

Thank you for sharing the photo with us—I’ve been very impressed by the displayed work of many of our members.

It's a shame you couldn't cover the cost of making them. It's a lovely piece...moreso when you consider the people who ruined Diamond Discs to make clocks out of them...unless they were unplayable discs to begin with.

Dave,

That repro is beautiful, well done. Really nice the way you made it look like something from the Edison factory for Edison dealers. I hope you don't mind a business question, but do you have any more for sale and and what is the price. Maybe some us on this board who are more interested than an eBay buyer would be willing to buy one or more.

Thanks,

Jack
