Is that one missing some veneer on the top front? Hard to see in these photos.

I don't know for sure, Adam. I'm looking at these on my iPhone. It does look like three pieces of veneer are snapped off.

Looks to me like it is missing some veneer on the top of the left door. Also the drawer knobs might be missing. Could be a good buy, though for someone close by.

That's because the 1928 models did not have a gold plated finish, rather a gunmetal or oxidised finish, except for the colorful 8-9, the 7-11 and the portables, on which the metalwork was coated with gilt paint.SignatureSeriesOwner wrote:Whoo boy, that gold plating has seen some better days.

This particular model of Victrola doesn't appeal to me, and if it's missing the albums it becomes even less desirable, since the albums were meant to be part of its total look.
The cabinet design is, well, for lack of a better term, too advanced. It looks like the furniture that was being produced in the 1940's.

Hey, you were the one who didn't like my TLP 8-30, right?bbphonoguy wrote:This particular model of Victrola doesn't appeal to me, and if it's missing the albums it becomes even less desirable, since the albums were meant to be part of its total look.

I like these a lot and I like the American version better than the Canadian one which is less angular... Here's the Canadian catalogue page from 1929.
