The pics appear to show that the pin wasn't in place, even before they shipped it.

It is a Canadian model, so maybe it is walnut. I swear I have info on the Canadian Orthophonics, but cannot find it now! grr.

A local auction house that has dabbled in Ebay Live and Artfact online auctions recommends Craters and Freighters for expert packing of Antiques. I have not used them personally, be we have used them at work to ship large bulky delicate items. Things were very very well packed. I am sure, one pays handsomely for the getting the job done right. Probably not worth the expense for anything other than the rarest of machines.

Best to buy local or make a road trip.

A friend of mine purchased a VV-400-S on eBay some years ago and had the packing handled by Craters and Freighters. The machine arrived with two of the legs snapped off. He has had trouble with other machines shipped by this firm, as have many radio collectors of my acquaintance.

Being a Canuckistan model, it isn't all that common. Should be nice, if you can make it work.

I think it will repair ok if I can find the right part for the tone arm support. When I get a chance I'm going to check the site suggested on here.

I still think it's a cool little machine. It just has a little more character and history now.

I'm going to send off the Ortho Reproducer for a rebuild. Still thinking of rebuilding the earlier versions on my own. The adventure continues....
