SOLD: Columbia Q Second Style Hi Serial Orig Horn - $500
At first you might think that the price is high for a Columbia Q but take a minute to look this one over a bit. It is in remarkable condition and runs out just fine. Well, as fine as a Q can run out. The bed-plate and original striping are great with some typical checking in the finish. The base and cover are simply incredible. The serial number is just over one million so it is obviously late. The decal on the lid confirms that with the inscription "Milan Expo 1906". Also note the decal on the front of the case is smaller than the earlier design. Both decals are nice. The lid hardware has been re-nickeled and looks great. The reproducer sounds fine but does have a slight bend in the thumbscrew. It still affixes just fine but is slightly bent. Key is correct and in great shape. The 10" cone horn is an original horn but according to what I have read it should have a soldered sleeve at the small end and this one has a shaped/crimped end so it may actually be from an Edison Gem. The crimped end shows some distortion but actually fits fine. It looks like someone put a clear coat on this end possibly to prevent more paint loss. The bell end is nearly perfect shaped. Regardless it is an original horn and has a thinner gold stripe than most I have seen. Please PM with questions and more pictures. I am not open to offers, machines in this condition are too hard to find and this one doesn't take up much space. Thanks for looking. Joe
