Edison Phonograph model C-250

I'm looking to purchase an Edison phonogragh model c-250 and the seller is asking $300. It looks to be in good condition, it works and comes with several disks. Is this a fair price or should I negotiate?

If it's in excellent condition, the reproducer has a perfect diamond stylus, the motor runs strong and silent, the cabinet finish is good to very good, and the plating is good to very good, then I think it's a good value.

There are 2 common wood types encountered with the Edison Chippendale C 250 (and its successor, the C 19), Oak, and Mahogany.

Oak is typically found at a higher price point than Mahogany, so if it's Oak, that's a huge "plus".

I paid $300 for my C-19 but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to negotiate.

What is it worth to you? If you like it and the $300.00 is for enjoyment, then there is nothing to lose. Bring a jewelers loupe to check the condition of the stylus. Look the motor over and listen for any concerning sounds. Original finish is the most important thing for me, the mechanics are not usually a big deal. Good luck.
