New yard sale find

Post by Magpie »

I'm new here, yard sale junkie and my first summer find was this lovely old beast. Literally no clue about these, did research and think it's a VV 2-55. Not sure what do do with it. It works but the felt on the turntable is curled up. I've got a few weeks until my new stuff gets purged.... Suggestions?

Certainly worth cleaning up. The reproducer will probably sound great once it's rebuilt.

Yes, it is a VV-2-55. I have one and it plays Orthophonic records well if the soundbox is in good condition.

Sadly I can’t keep her. My second find of a Daisy Model B BB gun is my project for now and storage is non existent. Am I better off listing it here? I don’t want some local touristy antique dealer grabbing it. I want it to go to someone with a love of these special machines.

List it in the Yankee Trader section of the forum.

Nice find. I recently got a Vv 2-55 off eBay. But unfortunately due to FedEx’s “professional packing” I had to fix the tonearm bracket. (thank god for jb weld) And I’m now in the process of putting a new brake pad when it shows up in the mail. And figuring how to get the record / lid holder back on which also came apart during shipping (It didn’t help that the seller left some records that came with the machine in the holder)... Needless to say, this was the first (and last) time I’ll will ever buy a machine off ebay!
