Shawn I didn't know you were a picker...
Just for the record...I had a 70's Univox Hi Flier guitar and it was one the best guitars I've even owned. I've had fenders, gibsons, yamahas, etc. but I regret selling the Univox the most.

Thanks Bob!! I agree it is a stunning guitar. If I wasn't 100% acoustic, I would not be selling it!

I too had a Univox "Black Beauty" like this one, but mine lacked the headstock decoration, and the "Univox" script was in gold. I loved that guitar, but I sold it to a local music store in the fall of 1972 to help pay for college tuition. The guitar disappeared almost immediately.

Eighteen years later I moved back into the area and asked the owner of the music store if he knew whatever happened to that guitar. It turned out that a fellow in a nearby village had bought it and evidently loved it as much as I did. When he died suddenly, the guitar was buried with him! Holy Smokes!

I've thought about getting an old Univox like this and trying to re-live my youth, but there are already too many guitars around here...
