Unusual Edison Phonograph Trademark

Post by Starkton »

This is a seldom seen trademark from mid-1893 used on phonographs imported into Europe by the Edison United Phonograph Co. In fact it is the earliest registered German trademark for talking machines I could find.

That's an intersting trademark indeed, and one I've never seen before.
Was it engraved on the machines bedplate/ID tag, or stamped on the machines somewhere?
On record boxes or advertising?
It seems strange to see an Edison trademark that lacks the familiar signature.
