There were two 1912 editions! :ugeek: Here is the way to tell them apart: The full-page photographs of opera singers have their names in the lower part of the border. If there is a white background to the printing of the name, it is the second edition. If the pattern of the border continues behind the name, it is the first edition.
The 1913 edition had a similar cover in dark blue, with gold printing.
The editor and writer of the early Victor Books of the Opera was Samuel H. Rous, not a familiar name, but many of you have records by him as he recorded for Victor before 1912 as S. H. Dudley! :) Bob Ault
