What is this....Reproducer?

Post by GaryLC »

Hi folks,

I recently picked up a VV-XI, and this strange reproducer component was with it. Or at least that's what I'm assuming it is. Can anyone tell me what it is by the photos?

Thanks!

This answers my question. This repro is for vertical recorded records. YOu need to get the correct repro for lateral records. Victor exhibitions and #2's are good choices. Plenty are available.
Why do we need signatures when we are on a first avatar basis?

So that is a spare part that came with the machine right? You also have the No 2 Victrola soundbox that was attached to the tone arm correct? As long as you have
the No 2 you are good for most 78's except Pathé and Edison Diamond Discs.

I had a reproducer like that, with the opaque black diaphragm. I believe some other company got ahold of some stock of Pathé reproducers, and tried to cover up the name for use on their brand. If you take the reproducer apart, the Pathé insignia should be underneath that black diaphragm.
