I don't hold it against him for asking for some advice even if he just wanted to get educated on what his machine might bring. If he listed it for $7500 and then found out it was worth ~$1000 would we be as upset? I can't remember what his prevous posts were about, if all he does is take from the group, and never give anything, I guess ignoring him is OK...Thanks steve The one person on this forum that gets it. Yes I did buy it off craigslist and but it on ebay to turn it. Yes I didnt know what its worth, so I asked. Is that wrong? Thanks for having a clue.

I've had the experience of making an offer on CL (re. TLP Credenza), negotiating what I thought, and what the seller said, was a pretty fair price, trying to set up a time to pick up an item, and then having my emails ignored by the CL seller. That wasn't appreciated but there's so much interesting stuff out there that I just move on to the next possibility and forgive and forget about the one that didn't work out.

Sorry no one lied to you. I guess phonograph collectors are not to trusting.

Well, I certainly DON'T regret trying to be helpful, nor do I feel stupid for being duped. Frankly, I don't expect--up front--to be lied to when I read these posts. Perhaps that's naive, but that's the way I am.

I made the post to find out what its worth so I could price it right. Is that wrong? I though this would be the place to ask. Nice people and all. I guess I was very wrong. I have a Victor 2 humpback (also bought off craigslist) and a victor E Thats all I want. I collect old televisions. Those collectors seam to be much nicer!!! So if that makes me a douche so be it.
Okay. So to clarify: you posted your initial question after you had purchased the Craigslist $75 Vic. P. (The Craigslist ad you posted the jump to was actually posted by the person you bought it from. It had not yet been pulled from Craigslist.)

Then, upon finding out what it was worth, you posted it for sale on eBay. Obviously, then, you were in the process of creating the ebay ad when you came here for advice.

Sorry to have misunderstood, and my apologies for any hard feelings I may have generated by my above comments; which I've already edited out.

Jeez man...relax. You have to admit it looked suspicious. One second asking questions, next second it's pulled down from CL, next it up on ebay with a buy it now for the exact price range mentioned. If we rushed to judgment, our bad, but seriously, wouldn't you have jumped to the same conclusion?

g-78,
I did read the Victor 6 thread (see link below) before I made my first post in this thread at 8:10 (local time) this morning, so I had a reasonable suspicion about the type of person we were dealing with. Although he deleted/edited some of his posts in the Victor 6 thread, enough remains to get the gist of what happened. Once again today, as he did last month, oldtvsandtoys revealed his true colors.

When I was a kid, there was a popular expression, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it." That seems like quite an appropriate thing to say to oldtvsandtoys.

As for Ortho_Fan, my comments about "falling for it" were not meant as an insult. I regret that you took it that way.

Hi AZ:

No problem. I had forgotten all about it. Actually, had I been more wide-awake when I read it, I'd have seen that.

AZ, as I have said I don't know much about Victors or any other machines. On the Victor 6 yes I though that was very high. I was wrong. I said I was sorry and deleted my posts. You did not see the PMs and emails that he sent me. He was as wrong as I was. As you said "he revealed his true colors." Yes, you are right. I made a mistake, found I was wrong. Admitted it said I was sorry and tried to delete my posts.
