European Disc Machines
Just curious if any of you collectors have pictures of European phonographs in your collections to share?
Re: European Disc Machines
If you want to look at pictures of european / British disk machines and associated items then check out The Vintage Gramophones & Music Forum. There is certainly a wealth of information on machines there. You'll also see some familiar members there too

Re: European Disc Machines
I've posted this machine a few times... but those threads are lost on past boards now. It's always been a little of a mystery machine. I'm pretty sure it's European even though it has the Oriental art.
The reproducer is labeled "EXTRA SONORE" which I believe to be a Thorens.
The motor (pictured below) says "Marque Deposee" which I have learned that are Paillard motors. (thanks G-Shane for that info!)
So, both Thorens & Paillard were based in Sainte Croix, Switzerland.
Everyone says the cabinet comes from Europe, but have never been able to pinpoint a make or model. I've been told it's Herzog-esque... but I don't know 100%. The machine itself is labeled as a "Zemerphone" by "J. Pomerantz"... but have never been able to find anything on that either.

I thought so, but for some reason it looks smaller in the photos, perhaps because of the size of the horn in relation to the rest of the machine?
