Enrico Caruso: 10" red G&T 52442 (mx 2882) Luna Fedel (Zardo). The last title from his 1902 sessions for G&T. Strict original raised-label first-stamper pressing of one of Caruso's 3 rarest G&T's (the others being the first matrices of Celeste Aida and Dai Campi). Caruso makes a false entrance after the first section, coming in too early. Label rubbed (typical of these early raised-label pressings, which were designed to protect the playing surface) and still has good color and shine, but this is not captured well in the photos. In person the label looks much better and more legible. The surface looks E or better, is clean and wear-free with only a few very light small scuffs. Clear and forward recording. A major Caruso rarity.
Condition E.
Price $350 and I will include free shipping within the continental US and Canada. SOLD
PM with interest.
Thanks,
Steven

My pleasure Dan--I'm happy you are enjoying it.melvind wrote:Glad it sold! I got the other record in the mail a few days ago. It is in remarkable condition. Thanks!
Caruso's two 1904 Milan G&T's are among my favourite recordings of his. I find his 1904 recording of the pearl fishers aria superior to his 1916 version, which I also enjoy as it has many wonderful qualities as well.
