Sorry for the delay but I finally got around to taking pics of this machine some of you were asking for.
Any help with identifying a model number, an operators manual (I have one on how to operate the reproducer) or anything you can tell me about it will be much appreciated. Any idea if the carvings are hand done?
The volume control rod is missing the knob on the end. What does it look like and does anyone have one they would like to get rid of?
Same thing with the key. It came with a Victor key but I believe it should have a wreath key. Got one you don't need?
Thanks in advance for all the help. Let me know if you have questions.

Congrats, Marty! That's a real beauty, especially in Oak. All Brunswicks I've ever seen / owned using a volume control arrangement like yours have a metal knob that just threads on the end.

Re: Help With Beautiful Brunswick -- Pics
That's a really wonderful machine. Makes me happy just looking at the photos.
I really love those oval wood horns. I think they sound great. Maybe try some goop on the horn and see if all the dust/darkening comes up. On one hand, a grille covers it, but on the other, it's so nice that it's worth cleaning.
The side carvings and the grille are fantastic.

jwb88, I intend to clean up the entire machine. It really does make you feel good to see that this has survived.

Anybody have any idea of the model? Instruction manual? What that number means? A key? Any info at all?
By the way, it plays well with a very quiet motor. Reproducer will need to be rebuilt.

The model is style 225 in 1918 catolog. In Feb 1919 it became style 22. Should use a regular Brunswick Key.

Phonogal, thanks! I thought this might take the wreath key. I have the key you posted. I think I'd still like the fancier wreath key to match the fancy cabinet.phonogal wrote:The model is style 225 in 1918 catolog. In Feb 1919 it became style 22. Should use a regular Brunswick Key.
Also, there are no threads on the rod.
Do you have the catalogue? If so, can I get a copy?
Also, anybody have a pic of the correct grill cloth color?

Re: Help With Beautiful Brunswick -- Pics
No I have a later catalog. I'm not sure what the date is on it as I can't find a date. I have a style 35 and a style 135 which is the same machine. Brunswick changed the style numbers over the course of a couple of years. The earlier machines had a wood motor board. The later had a metal motor board. The catalog that I found your machine in is one that is listed in Wakemans book. Your machine was probably made for only a few years as it's not listed in a 1920 catalog. You are probably right about the key being a wreath key as my earlier Brunswick with the wood motor board has a wreath key.Marty Bufalini wrote:Phonogal, thanks!
