The last model E I have a record of is #817534. That's pretty close to the end of Standard production. Standards were discontinued in late 1913, but I suspect they shipped well into 1914.

Taking a wild guess, I'd think yours was from late 1912 to early 1913.

Hope this helps.

Thanks y'all--I had thought they were a 1911 only phenomenon. Glad to know the E hung around. They're really nifty machines and Andy is doing great with his restoration.

Thanks Man. Happy new year! I can’t wait to talk to Ron and get this thing working!

Welp. I’ve been trying to call Ron and no dice. Either he hasn’t opened up his shop yet, or my phone is being stupid. :(

Just keep trying Ron, I always seem to reach him if I can just after 7PM EST on a weeknight, he usually picks right up.

Good luck!

Sean

Sean is right. Keep trying, he'll pick up eventually. Keep in mind that he's a one-man show, and I'm sure he's extra busy after the holidays. People on the various Facebook "talking machine" pages are always touting his services. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the last couple of years have been the busiest he's ever seen. Imagine the exposure FB has brought him, and those few others who sell parts and services.

Hang in there, this hobby teaches us patience, if nothing else...

Cheers,
Fran

Ok. I’ll be persistent and keep trying. I’m sure he’s a very busy gentleman and everybody is trying to get their orders in. So it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get a chance to talk to him in the next few days.

Good news! I bought a gear cover from Long_island_phono! Thank you Jake! And I finally found out how do Do PayPal transactions outside eBay! Now I can start buying from the Yankee Trader section! :)

EDIT: I’m also getting the Mandrel bearing from Jake too. Nice! 8-)

Well, I talked to Ron for the other accessories I needed for my Standard E. (Reducer ring for a Model H & a witch’s hat horn adapter for a horizontal carriage.) He told me the prices and shipping cost. And told me to write a letter with the stuff I want, where to send it to, and a check! We’ll see what happens.
