Hi Jerry, I’m mainly a cylinder machine guy. My understanding was that the elbow and horn on a Schoolhouse are unique to that machine and not interchangeable with other models. Is my understanding incorrect?

Hi Rich,

Check before you buy. I believe that there are 2 sizes for the elbow. The later models have a larger size diameter (where they fit into the bracket) than the earlier ones. The larger size are more difficult to find..

The Schoolhouse was made for a number of years and went through several changes. The one in my collection is a late example with a fat tone arm, Victrola 2 sound box, and a big smooth horn. Earlier ones had skinny tone ams, a smaller elbow, and a typical spearpoint horn. I'd start by posting a photo of the cast iron bracket showing the measurement across the top where the elbow attaches. To be safe find the elbow first and then go for the horn. Hope this helps.
