This one came up in my area. The tone arm is nickle and it appears
to be a gold horn segment connected to it. Anyone know if the parts
are supposed to be gold?

Re: Edison W19
The reproducer should also be gold, but it looks like the nickel reproducer might be an Edisonic?
It's a bit hard to tell from the photos.

Antiques73,
I don't think that's gold finish on the arm. If you look closely at the picture I think it's a sort of antiqued or gun metal like in these pictures.

The one on craigslist should have rougly the same colored arm and reporducer. The nickel one not correct.

Thanks for the reference, you have a nice W19 by the way.

nickel is confirmed as non-original. There are a number of Edisons on the local market now but it seems like they are all missing parts or have mismatched parts, missing legs, etc. What I really need is to find a nice cabinet with a shot motor so I can get a good deal and drop in my spare motor. I am sure one will come along eventually.

Thanks Shane. Its interesting that the seller appears to be the same one
that has had the "broken spring" Prismatone on the market for many months.
Now he lists an Edison out of the blue but alas, it has issues as well!

Re: Edison W19
Thanks for your comment on my W&M. It's actually a W250 though, not a W19. Regarding finding a nice Edison cabinet with a shot motor, you can do it but some patience may be required. Those motors are almost bullet proof. I've run into many with perfectly running motor, except for reproducer needing rebuilt, and shot cabinet but not as often the other way around.antique1973 wrote:Valecnik wrote:Antiques73,

Oh sorry, in that case you have a nice W250!

I may have better luck finding an empty cabinet is my guess. I can only pray
that it will have a good tone arm with it!
