Another Edison...and more swapped parts

Post by antique1973 »

This one is in pretty good shape and includes a lateral
adapter but it appears to be another mismatched tone arm...

I've seen oak cases with gold hardware - I think at the end the factory was just putting them together and moving them out the door, it didn't matter if everything matched.

C-150 had nickel hardware. This has the wrong reproducer and the wrong motor. The prewar Edisons had a pinstriped motorboard.

Very detailed pictures for Craigslist!

Something looks wrong here. Could just be you need a nickel reproducer, easy to find, or could be the works was switched. Machines of this vintage could have had a flat black bedplate though I think.

Anyway at $425 it should be really perfect imho. :monkey:

It's a very nice unit for $425 but needs a nickel reproducer. It would be great if the grill cloth is original.

Yeah, at $425 it should be all original especially in this market. Thanks for all
your helpful evaluations. I would not have had a clue the motor was swapped. It is
also a possibility the pin striping was worn off however... I am going to keep searching
for one that is all original.
