I thought for sure someone would have posted pictures by now. I no longer have a 30 with this earlier style guide, nor did I take photos of this part of it. However, if I recall correctly, there was a small flat washer riding the post on each side of the guide, and a hex nut threaded onto the post. Not tightly, of course, but secure enough to keep the horn/washers in place while allowing the necessary movement.

Re: Amberola 30 Restoration
Here are some pics that I could find of the (2nd Type) Horn Retainer End in question (Can't remember the actual technical name for this part..)
There was a (1st Type) that was made on the very Early 1st Series Amberola 30's were very different.. I will try and post a few pics of that as well.

Re: Amberola 30 Restoration
Here is the even Earlier (Earliest) Very Early Series 1 (1st Type) with just a simple Brass bushing securing the end.. Note the Horn end holder as well is also different. There is also a wire clip that goes over the top (Missing from the pics, but you can see the notches where it fits over at the top of the holder..
(1st Type) (With Straight Pin and Brass/Copper Bushing) - Don't know for sure if there was or was not a metal washer used here as well... It would appear no...
