Morning Glory Horn Questions.

Post by AmberolaAndy »

What is the make of my morning glory horn and what is the proper stand for it? Since I don’t have one, what do I need to look out for? I’m thinking about getting a floor crane to use on all my Edison machines.

There isnt necessarily a "correct" crane, but these were usually supported by a case-mounted crane. The original cranes you would usually run into are Edison cranes, Hawthorne and Sheble crane, and TTC cranes. Know that original cranes can be quite pricey, but Ron Sitko sells a great reproduction Edison crane for $100

As for floor cranes, Hawthorne and Shebley are the most attractive (if that matters to you), there are also TTC floor cranes, and off brand ones in general.

The horn is probably H&S, judging by the hanger.

A floor crane is too early for this style of a horn.

It maybe too early but it should work. Hopefully if the seller doesn’t ghost me, I’ll have a Model D standard with proper paneled horn and crane To use on all my machines.
