Hi Henry:

Not to worry. I work at home, and both of my downstairs neighbors are at their jobs 9-5, Monday through Friday. So when I'm in a listening mood, I play my Victrolas when I know they're away. Since they're home on the weekends, I never play my Victrolas then. It's kind of a hassle--the restricted listening hours--but it keeps peace in the building, and I'm grateful to have these neighbors. The former downstairs tenant was a "Rap Poet" with a sense of entitlement who used the space directly under where I have my office for his "recording studio." Boom! Boom! Boom! - Boom-Boom-Boom-Boom-BOOM!!!

We should all have such considerate neighbors as you are! Too bad not everybody has the same notion of good manners. :(
