A real beauty it is--and I think it was in the Trader section the other week. I hope for the sake of the seller that a lot of people bid on this. Missing parts shouldn't be a problem to source and I hope the seller gets full market value for what he has in this condition.

Indeed, this is a beautiful and quite rare Victrola. However, please take note that the seller has 0% feedback and "0" sales. This sale could be honest, but I've seen similar sales that have been bogus. Caveat emptor...buyer beware.

The Victrola's owner is a member of this Board and probably is making his first eBay sale. Of course he would have no feedback or sales.
If it is a scam, then someone would have made it a very high-effort one, reading the TMF to glean this info & copying all the pictures of that machine.
I'd bet on it being as genuine as the Victrola they're selling.

‘‘Tis genuine.
I am in the middle of a road trip through Georgia to swap what is probably my finest Victrola for what will be my newest finest Victrola. The TMF member that I am doing the trade with ask me to stop by and pick up this Chippendale for him, which I did last night. Too bad the eBay listing hasn’t been taken down yet, I feel bad for those bidders.

Congratulations to the new owner. Ebay is a great asset, but somehow it doesn't bother me a bit when they are cut out of a transaction. I hope that we see more detailed pictures of the 500 posted on the forum. The same goes for your newest finest Victrola. I have seen so many of your beautiful machines so I will be interested in what makes this new one special.Victrola-Monkey wrote:‘‘Tis genuine.

Re: A real beauty, Chippendale Victrola
Apparently this Chippendale is the only windup phonograph the seller has ever owned. Had it for 10 years as decoration along with a bunch of other antiques and now is downsizing. He first had it on Craigslist and pulled it from there when he started to do a little research on its rarity. Some of his research involved TMF and that’s when he joined the forum and posted a Yankee Trader item. That’s where the eventual buyer saw it and discussed it with me about getting it on the way to his place to do a Circassian L-Door for Gothic trade. However, the seller had posted the Chippendale on eBay before he agreed to sell it the guy trading me his Gothic. Hence, the seller cancelled all the bids, and ended the eBay auction.
Audiophile102,
See photo and my Yankee Trader wanted posting link below for my latest and finest Victrola, which is the Gothic-500. If I someday end up with only one phonograph , this would be it.

AZ*,
Yes, the TMF member that purchased the Chippendale really likes it. It may seem strange that he would give up his Gothic and then buy a Chippendale. Well, he got an all original and complete Circassian L-door in trade for a Gothic that was previously converted back from a radio cabinet back to its original configuration. He also bought an all original and complete Chippendale because he got it for a great price and now is not without a Victor Period Model. He also got everything delivered and picked up in one shot.
