Could someone who knows, send me a PM with approximate value or price range of this machine to help my friend out?

Again, just wanting to be fair.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The 120 is basically a late VV-XVI. The value should probably be the about same as a Mahogany VV-XVI that needs a good clean-up and service. In today's market, I would say that $200.00 would be a good day, (sad to say because they are a nice machine). I hope that it finds a new home where it can be appreciated.

Agreed, I PM-ed him basically the same thing including the same price suggestion! I'm GIVING an XVI slightly earlier, but same basic machine away this weekend to a "newbie" that is local. I tried to get $150 then $100 locally for it with no takers. $200 is a long shot and XVIs are a weakness for me, but not many folks seem to want them of late.

Sean, are you really giving it to a newbie? What a generosity from y you, that tells very good about you. I wish I was that newbie...! ;)
This hobby is full of nice people. The machine that studebaker is enquiring about its alligatored, but the inside looks pretty well, isn't it? I wish I was there and could buy it...
I only own a dozen machines, and right of them are portables. I wish I could add to my collection a good Victrola like those XVI/XVII/XVIIIs, or any of their equivalent HMVs... My queen is an HMV194 I purchased twenty years ago, and it is fabulous, it's the one I play the most. But I'm feeling the need for a new grand upright... uffff...!

Yes, I am giving it away. This will be the 4th or 5th machine I've given to a new, younger person in hopes it might trigger an interest. This particular XVI isn't perfect, it needs a little cleaning and cosmetic stuff, but it's a perfectly great machine with a rebuilt Exhibition and a nice quiet motor that should need nothing. I just don't need another XVI like this one and I basically rescued it, so I believe in paying it forward.
