Could someone tell me what years the Model R4 was built? Thanks for your help.

I believe all the Edison radios were pretty short lived, closing down when the phonograph division was closed... so 1928-1930. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

There was quite some good information provided on the Edison radios on another thread awhile back. FYI

Here's the link.

The Edison R4 is from the 1929 model year. Models in 1928 were the R1, R2, C1, and C2. For 1929 the models were R4, R5, and C4. In 1930 the models were R6 and R7. There was no R3 or C3 in the Edison lineup. There is some question as to whether there was a model R8 in the 1930 model year. There exist factory catalog pictures of an R8 which looks to be an R5 with some more gingerbread added to the cabinet, but no actual examples of it are known to exist.
